Figure Out Their School

The first step is determining where your child will go to school. For public schools, you will need to call the Student Assignment Office to find out what district your child is zoned for. You will then need to visit the central registration office for the school district to get the registration form. Please note that this is now often available online, depending on the school district.

Gather the Necessary Documents

When you go to register your child, there will be certain documents that are required. You will need to complete an emergency contact form, provide proof of residence in the form of identification or current property tax forms, proof of your child’s age with a passport or original birth certificate, and immunization records.

Submit the Enrollment Form

Once you have all of the documents gathered and the forms filled out, you will submit the enrollment form. Sometimes this can be online with digital copies, but often times you are required to either present or mail in original copies of the requested documents.
